Nu Infinity's inspiration for Opulent 30 stems from the desire to elevate localized design to an international level. The design is a harmonious blend of modern oriental aesthetics and the rich, diverse cultures of Malaysia. The result is a unique design that stands as a proud representation of Malaysian originality.
What sets Opulent 30 apart is its open floor plan and the luxury of space it offers. Each space is designed to exude its own character, yet they are all connected by a string of design details, finishes, and ambiance. The design team has managed to infuse each area with a unique personality that resonates with the subconscious mind.
The realization of this design involved a meticulous process. The team incorporated the client's love for animals, not necessarily of Chinese zodiac nature, into the design. They used opulent materials such as natural marble and brushed metal stainless steel, and added modern elements like textured plaster wall finish and colored mirrors. The result is a space that exudes luxury and sophistication.
The penthouse spans 3,600 sqft, featuring 4+1 bedrooms and 5 baths. The design process took a year, from May 2017 to May 2018. The team consulted a 'feng shui' master to determine the colors, materials, and even animals that would benefit the occupants, making the penthouse not just a visual delight, but also a harmonious living space.
The biggest challenge was to establish a style that is truly Malaysian. The design reflects the struggle and victory of finding a unique identity that aligns with the culture of the client, likely to be 2nd or 3rd generation of Chinese immigrants. The design moves away from the traditional approach, utilizing local resources and craftsmanship passed down by the forefathers.
Opulent 30 has been recognized for its outstanding design, winning the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is a testament to the design's creative excellence, technical expertise, and innovation. It is a beacon of inspiration for future designs that seek to blend tradition with modernity in a unique and compelling way.
